✨ AI-Enhanced Insights
Campo Grande International Airport (CGR/SBCG), also known as Maestro Plínio Alarcom Airport, serves Campo Grande, the capital of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. Located about 7 km from the city center, it is a medium-sized airport with a single passenger terminal and is a common gateway for travelers heading to the Pantanal wetlands. It handles mainly domestic flights to major Brazilian hubs, with occasional international and charter services.
💡 Local Tip
If you're heading to the Pantanal, book your transfer or rental car in advance; the airport is small and options can sell out during the dry season (May-September). Also, try a local sobá or chipa before leaving—Campo Grande has a strong Okinawan and Paraguayan food culture.
🚖 Getting There
Taxis and ride-hailing apps like Uber and 99 are the most convenient options, with pickup areas outside the terminal. Local buses are cheaper but can be infrequent, so verify routes and schedules in advance. Allow extra time during peak hours and Pantanal travel season, as the airport can get busy.
