✨ AI-Enhanced Insights
Lynn Lake Airport (YYL/CYYL) is a regional airport in northwestern Manitoba, Canada, located just southwest of the town of Lynn Lake. Originally developed to support the region’s mining industry, it now handles scheduled, charter, cargo, and medevac flights for Lynn Lake and nearby northern communities. Its single asphalt runway and small terminal make it a vital year-round link to Winnipeg and other Manitoba hubs.
💡 Local Tip
Frequent visitors know to call ahead to confirm the terminal and flight status, especially in winter—weather diversions to Thompson or Winnipeg are not uncommon, and the small terminal may not be staffed outside flight times.
🚖 Getting There
The airport is a short drive from Lynn Lake, but there is no regular bus service; book a taxi or arrange a pickup before arrival. In winter, allow extra time for icy roads and possible flight delays or diversions caused by weather. If you are connecting onward, confirm whether your ground transport meets the flight, as services can be sparse in the evening.
