✨ AI-Enhanced Insights
Vohemar Airport (VOH/FMNV) is a small domestic airfield serving Vohemar, a coastal town in northeastern Madagascar’s Sava Region. It provides essential connections to larger Malagasy hubs for passengers traveling to and from this remote vanilla- and fishing-oriented area. The airport has basic facilities and a single runway, with services typically geared toward light aircraft and scheduled domestic flights.
💡 Local Tip
Frequent visitors know to reconfirm their return flight by phone or through a local agent a day before departure, since schedules can shift and airport staff may not update online systems promptly.
🚖 Getting There
The most practical way to reach or leave Vohemar Airport is by pre-arranged hotel transfer or taxi, as public transport is not reliably timed to flights. Allow extra time during the rainy season (December–March), when unpaved roads and tracks can become muddy or flooded. If you use a taxi-brousse, confirm the drop-off point in advance because the airport is outside the main town.
