✨ AI-Enhanced Insights
Moma Airport (IATA: MQJ, ICAO: UEMA) is a regional airfield serving Khonuu, the administrative center of the Momsky District in Russia's Sakha Republic (Yakutia). Located in remote northeastern Siberia at about 66.45°N, 143.26°E, it provides essential passenger and cargo links for a vast area with limited road access. The airport operates in extreme subarctic conditions and is a lifeline for the Khonuu community, especially during winter and spring when other transport modes are unreliable.
💡 Local Tip
Frequent visitors know to confirm their flight by phone or with a local contact on the day of departure, as schedules at this remote Yakutian airfield are highly weather-dependent and can change with little notice.
🚖 Getting There
There is no regular public bus service to Moma Airport; arrange a taxi or private transfer in advance through your hotel, host, or local airline office. Khonuu is small enough that many transfers are short, but weather and road conditions can slow them considerably. In winter, ice roads may connect some settlements, but they are seasonal and should only be used with local guidance.
